After 40 years in treasury management, Salmon Software had built a strong reputation. But as their product evolved, their digital presence wasn’t keeping pace, and user expectations were changing fast.
What I did
While working at Luna 9 Design, I led the design of a new marketing site to better reflect where the business was heading.
I started with research, looking at the different user groups engaging with the platform, from cash managers to treasury leads and analysts. Each had different priorities, so the challenge was to create a clear, structured experience that could speak to all personas including those not as familiar with the sector.
From there, I defined the site architecture and visual hierarchy to simplify what is naturally a complex product. The goal was to guide users through the offering in a way that felt intuitive, while still reinforcing trust and credibility. Building trust at this early touchpoint was crucial for what is then a lengthy client onboarding.
One of the more interesting constraints was that the platform itself was undergoing a UI/UX refresh, meaning I couldn’t rely on product visuals. Instead, I explored more abstract ways to communicate the experience, using blurred UI elements and layered components to give a sense of the platform without fully revealing it. This approach not only solved the immediate challenge, but also helped inform the visual direction of the product moving forward.
Visually, I designed a modern, clear, and confident UI, aligning with the refreshed brand while making complex information easier to digest. Prototyping and interaction design helped bring this to life and ensured the experience felt considered across devices.
This was a highly collaborative process. I worked closely with the client-side UX designer to stay aligned with the evolving product, while also partnering with developers early to ensure what was designed was practical and build-ready.

Impact
The result was a more focused, intuitive marketing experience that better reflects Salmon’s evolution as a product and business:
Clearer communication across multiple user types
A modernised brand presence aligned with the platform’s future direction
A flexible foundation to support ongoing product and marketing growth
